Those with English as their mother tongue may never comprehend fully the concept of using personal and impersonal language. Yes, it is understandable and it can certainly be grasped easily and rather quickly for everyday use.
Yet even after decades, it is doubtful whether or not anyone can explain. i speak from experience. And, nearly every German I have spoken to, wish to dispose of the phenomenon yet so many also wish to maintain the possibility of demanding respect through language.
The consequences of change are far reaching. What do students do? Police? Mother-in-law? Father-in-law? Such a task is almost overwhelming. So why bother? Because such a vast amount of people desire change and yearn for a more openly happy society. This project could help.
